I love to travel…whether it is to a foreign country, to visit my kids (Philly and Chicago) or one of my siblings (California or South Carolina), or to wine country anywhere! When I do, I make an effort to attend a local yoga class. Labor Day had me in Chicago visiting my sons. Zack found a community yoga class at the Farmer’s Market. Though I arrived to the market 20 minutes early, I could not find the class! I kept searching for people with mats and with the help of my husband finally found the little spot carved out in the grass, right near the tent that had multiple electric freezers running. (I think it was the grass fed beef tent.) By this time I was five minutes late. There were no doors to close or hard wood creaky floor to traverse so I scooted in to the second row around the tree and settled in for a great class among the vendors, the cars, the shoppers and those freezers. In no time at all, those distractions blurred into the background as I noticed the trees, the sky and the guidance of a gifted instructor. I left there wanting to offer an outdoor class for our community! We have another month of summer to enjoy! Tell me where and when you could join me for an outdoor practice!
